Cook Security Group successfully completes 3rd Party SOC 2 Type 2 audit, demonstrates dedication to complying w/ today’s heightened ‘information security’ regulations:
“Our 3rd party SOC 2 Type 2 report assures our customers and their internal security officers that Cook places a serious emphasis on security and their industry compliance requirements,” states Brian Cook, CEO of Cook Security Group.
What is a SOC 2 Type 2? A Service Organization Control 2 (SOC 2) engagement is an audit of a service provider that is relevant to compliance or operations. SOC 2 Reports specifically address one or more of the following five key system principles: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, or privacy. “Every Financial and Commercial Institution should be asking themselves, ‘what certifications do my current vendors have?’ especially vendors that provide access control, alarm & video, ATM and even lock work. Our current control framework and information security program takes into account other regulatory compliance standards such as the Bank Protection Act and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).” Brian adds.
The SOC 2 Type 2 audit also directly compliments Cook’s innovative RemoteView Surveillance service. “The issue with a traditional DVR and video system is that they fail. Our customers end up losing essential video when they need it most” states Levi Daily, Director of IT. Levi adds “DVRs are servers that are rarely monitored and maintained.” While many institutions rely on staff to verify the integrity of the system, it’s still limited to human error. If you are a financial institution, you’re required to comply with many Federal regulations. That is why we (Cook) took our customers feedback and developed a safe and reliable solution.
By outsourcing the responsibility to industry professionals with a proven track record and SOC 2 Type 2 audit, our customers can be assured video is recording at a maximum level. With Cook’s upgraded NOC (Network Operations Center), Cook is constantly monitoring and maintaining customer surveillance systems. RVS customers can rest assure that when they need video most, it will be there. Brian Cook adds, “We developed this solution in response to real life customer horror stories of losing video. The market dictates the needs and we came up with the cost efficient solution. The kicker is just how simple and user-friendly the application is for the mobile app, laptop, or PC. Literally, just 3 clicks away!”
